The 2027
Merritt Mock Trial

A live civil rights case demonstration, hosted by Merritt Law Firm and the Merritt Civil Rights Summer Fellowship. Summer 2027 · Dallas · Exact date to be announced.

What is the Merritt Mock Trial

The Merritt Mock Trial is a live civil rights case demonstration — modeled on the police-shooting, deaths-in-custody, and constitutional cases that shape the national accountability conversation. In 2026, Merritt Law Firm’s cohort tried Williams v. Mason and the City of Bristol — a federal Fourth Amendment excessive-force case — in open-court format alongside S. Lee Merritt, Ben Crump, Blerim Elmazi, and Sean Daredia, before Hon. Renée Harris Toliver, with Professor Cheryl Wattley as trial coach. The 2027 edition returns to Dallas with an expanded faculty, an evening Advocates’ Dinner, and CLE credit for attending attorneys (state approvals pending).
